The problem is that reading it properly takes time most people don't have and financial expertise most people haven't got. So decisions get made without it, and sometimes that goes badly.

What CompanyIQ Does

CompanyIQ lets you look up any UK registered company and receive a full intelligence report within minutes. We retrieve the company's filing history and financial accounts directly from the Companies House API, extract the data from the filed documents using AI-powered OCR, and run it through our analysis model to produce a CIQ Score: a 0 to 100 rating across five dimensions covering Financial Health, Filing Compliance, Director Quality, Market Position, and Risk Assessment.

The report tells you what the numbers mean, not just what they are. Revenue trends, profit margins, liquidity ratios, director tenure, late filing history, risk signals. It's all pulled from source, analysed with our published framework. No guesswork. No estimates. Nothing that isn't directly supported by the filed data.

Why We Built It

The tools that exist for company intelligence today fall into two camps. There are expensive enterprise platforms built for large credit teams: accurate and comprehensive, but priced and designed for organisations with dedicated analysts. And there are free Companies House lookups that return raw data with no interpretation. There is almost nothing in between.

CompanyIQ is built for the space in between. For anyone who needs a clear, reliable answer about a company before making a decision, and who doesn't want to pay enterprise prices or spend an afternoon reading accounts to get it. What We Hope It Becomes

Our ambition is simple. We want CompanyIQ to be the tool that smaller businesses reach for before they commit to something. Not a complex platform for analysts, but a useful, trusted reference that gives any business owner the same confidence that used to require an accountant or a credit team. The kind of confidence that means you go into a partnership, a contract, or a supplier relationship knowing what you're dealing with.

There will be more features over time. But the goal has always been that one thing: making it a little easier for smaller businesses to make better decisions.

Transparent by Design

We publish exactly how the CIQ Score is calculated. The formula, the weightings, the data sources: all of it is documented on our How It Works page. We think that matters. A score you cannot interrogate is not worth much. When a company scores 34, you should be able to understand exactly why, which dimensions pulled the score down, and what would need to change for it to improve.
