Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using companyIQ, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

Description of Service

companyIQ provides AI-powered analysis of UK companies using publicly available data from Companies House. We generate CIQ Scores and intelligence reports to support informed business decisions.

Our service is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, investment, or commercial advice. Reports produced by the platform are intelligence tools and must not be treated as the sole basis for any business, financial, or legal decision.

Service Availability

companyIQ makes reasonable efforts to maintain service availability but does not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption, error, or delay.

AI analysis functionality depends on third-party infrastructure and AI model providers outside our direct control. Temporary unavailability of these services may result in analysis failures or delays. companyIQ accepts no liability for losses arising from such interruptions, including where a failure affects a time-sensitive business process or decision.

In the event of an analysis failure, no credit will be charged and you will be notified via your dashboard. We will make reasonable efforts to restore service as quickly as possible but cannot guarantee resolution within any specific timeframe.

No Reliance

Reports, scores, and analysis produced by companyIQ are provided for informational and research purposes only. You acknowledge that:

• Reports are generated from publicly available Companies House data which may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate
• AI analysis may misinterpret figures, context, or nuance within filed documents
• CIQ Scores are intelligence indicators, not financial assessments or credit ratings
• No report constitutes financial, legal, investment, or professional advice of any kind
• You are solely responsible for any decision made in reliance on information provided by the platform

User Accounts

Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must be at least 18 years old to use our service
• One account per person or business entity

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for illegal purposes
• Scrape, crawl, or automate access to our platform without permission
• Share your account credentials with others
• Resell or redistribute our reports without prior written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our algorithms, scoring methodology, or systems
• Use the service to harass, defame, or harm others
• Overload our systems through excessive or automated requests

Subscription and Payment Terms

Pricing

• Prices are displayed in GBP (£) inclusive of any applicable VAT
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

Monthly Subscriptions

• Billed monthly on your signup date
• Report credits reset at the start of each billing cycle
• Unused credits from the current cycle do not roll over to the next month
• Cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the current billing period
• Upgrades take effect immediately with credits carried over; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle

Pay As You Go

Single report purchases are non-refundable. Credits purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis do not expire.

Failed Analyses

Credits are only consumed for successfully completed analyses. If an analysis fails for any reason, including third-party AI service unavailability, your credit will be automatically refunded and your balance restored. You will be notified on your dashboard.

Refund Policy

• Pay-as-you-go purchases: non-refundable except where required by law
• Monthly subscriptions: refunds considered on a case-by-case basis within 7 days of charge
• No refunds for partial month usage
• Credits automatically refunded for failed analyses — see above

Data Accuracy and Disclaimers

We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but provide no warranty, express or implied, as to the completeness, reliability, timeliness, or accuracy of any report, score, or analysis.

• Data is sourced from Companies House and may contain errors, omissions, or filing delays
• AI analysis may misinterpret data, miss nuances, or produce inaccurate extractions
• CIQ Scores are intelligence indicators, not credit ratings or financial assessments
• Reports reflect filed data at the time of analysis and may not represent current trading conditions
• Always conduct independent due diligence before making any decision

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, companyIQ and its operators exclude all liability for:

• Any loss or damage arising from reliance on reports, scores, or analysis produced by the platform
• Business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, or loss of opportunity arising from use of the service
• Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated data sourced from Companies House or other third parties
• Service interruptions, analysis failures, or delays caused by third-party AI or infrastructure providers
• Any indirect, consequential, special, or economic loss of any kind
• Decisions made in reliance on the service, including time-sensitive commercial or financial decisions

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Third-Party Services

Our service relies on third-party providers including Companies House (UK government), AI model providers, cloud infrastructure, and payment processors. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or service availability of these providers.

Data processed by our AI analysis systems is Companies House public data only. No personal user data is shared with third-party AI providers.

Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, scoring methodology, and branding are owned by companyIQ.

• You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute our reports commercially without prior written permission
• Internal business use for your own research and decision-making is permitted
• API access (where available) is subject to separate terms

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via email with at least 14 days notice.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
